Prof. D N Subramaniam: Founder & Convener of Pervious Concrete Research Group

Daniel Niruban Subramaniam

Professor in Civil Engineering

Initiated research on pervious concrete in 2014/November, at Colombo Nautical and Engineering College, Malabe, Sri Lanka. Having completed my doctoral thesis on stormwater biofilters as an element of Water Sensitive Urban Design, I was predispositioned to pervious concrete as a permeability enhancing, groundwater recharge supporting urban catchment paving material.

Prof. N Sathiparan: Senior Investigator of Pervious Concrete Research Group

Navaratnarajah Sathiparan

Professor in Civil Engineering

Having completed my post-graduate research in earth-quake resistance structures, I continued research on sustainable masonry construction materials. I got involved in pervious concrete research, predominantly working on substitution of ashes emerging from various waste, to improve sustainability and mechanical properties of pervious concrete.
